  • You can use some parts from a broken toy.
  • Your toy could operate by batteries, solar panels, or both.
  • Prepare an oral presentation 3-4 minutes discussing your toy: how you built it, materials used, challenges you faced and how you could improve it in the future.

Garbage-Free lunch bag challenge day

Assalamu alaikum Abraar School families,

Every Thursday in November will be Garbage-Free lunch bag challenge day.

Please help us reduce waste by packing garbage free lunch bags.  Instead of using ziploc bags and plastic cutlery, wrap etc.  please use reusable containers and cutlery, this will help us do our part as a school to make our earth a little bit cleaner inshallah. This ties into our November character theme of CLEANLINESS.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your cooperation, and feel free to continue this great habit even after November ends.

Sincerely,

The SK Team

Message from Abraar Administration

Asalamu alaikum.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Today your child will be bringing home their CTBS results. The test was conducted mid October. Please read the cover letter and attached document that explains the CTBS and the results.

Also note that we conducted the Math and Language Arts assessments only (Science, Reference Mat'l, Maps and diagrams were not assessed so the area for the results is blank). If any other area remained blank it would be due to a lack of evidence(not enough questions answered by student).

Students scoring 6 months below their expected Grade Equivalent score will be requested to meet with the teacher to discuss academic performance and plans for intervention. [For example a grade 5 student scoring G.E : 4.2 indicates that the student is at 4 years and 2 months of instruction as opposed to 5.0 -5 years and 0 months of instruction]

Expected G.E Scores are:

Gr. 3 : 3.0 [3 years 0 months of instruction] or higher
Gr. 5: 5.0 [5 years and 0 months of instruction] or higher
Gr. 6: 6.0 [6 years and 0 months of instruction] or higher

Please feel free to contact the homeroom teacher or myself with any further questions.

3- We started to read the story (part one) – un frère pénile -
I read the play with the whole class (we repeat several times words that I notice are mispronounced by students).
I point to the words as I read them for weaker students to follow.
I stop and ask questions for clarification from time to time.
Please encourage your child to read the story  and practice with him/her the vocabulary. You find below  the story of un frère pénible with listening .

4- We did the following activities:

 - Choisis le bon mot (students should use all available cues to determine meaning of the sentence as well as the optional words in the activity.)

 - Mets les mots en ordre (students should use all available cues to determine meaning of the sentence.)

-les contraires

-drôles d’histoires

-les phrases coupées.

5- Viewing the play on video/DVD

6-  les mots qui vont ensemble.

7-  les verbes d’action et les verbes du premier groupe.
